Privacy Policy

The short version. Dentingo stores your learning progress so you can pick up where you left off. It never asks for patient information, never sells your data, and asks only for what an account needs — a name and an email address.

1. Who we are

Dentingo is an educational app for dental students and interns, published by Karam Khalil Alalibak, Iraq. For any privacy question, write to dentingoapp@gmail.com.

2. What we collect

DataWhyNeeded?
Learning progress — XP, streak, hearts, stages finished, answers given To unlock the path, show your statistics, and pick the cases you should review Yes, this is the app
Display name and avatar choices To show you on the leaderboard and on your certificates Optional — a default is used if you set nothing
Your Dentingo ID, friend requests and friendships So a classmate can find you, and so the two of you can follow each other's achievements once you both agree Optional — the app works without a single friend
Badges you earn, and the hearts you give To show your achievements, and your friends' achievements, in the app Comes with using the app — only friends see them
XP earned this week To build the weekly league table Yes — the league is part of the app
Exam results, the case of the day, and certificates To mark your exam, keep your daily streak, and issue the certificate for a finished topic Optional — only if you use them
Name and email address To create your account, let you sign in on any phone, and send account emails such as a password reset Yes — every account needs one
Role and study year To start you on cases suited to your level Optional — you can skip these questions
Anonymous app statistics — crashes, which screens are slow To fix problems Not linked to your identity

We never collect patient data. Dentingo has no field anywhere for a patient name, record number, or clinical detail about a real person. Please do not type patient information into the app — including into a case report.

3. Signing in

You need an account to use Dentingo. You can sign up with an email address and a password, or continue with Apple, Google or Facebook. When you use Apple, Google or Facebook, we receive only your name and email address from them — never your password, contacts or posts. Apple lets you hide your real email; we then receive a private relay address that forwards to you. If you use a password, it is stored by Supabase only in scrambled (hashed) form, so nobody — including us — can read it.

4. Children

Dentingo is intended for dental students, interns and qualified dentists. It is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data.

5. Where your data is stored

Progress is stored on your device and in our database, hosted by Supabase, on servers in Seoul, South Korea (Northeast Asia). Access is restricted by database-level security rules so that you are the only person who can read or change your own records. Nobody, including us, can alter your progress from the app.

6. Who else sees your data

7. Advertising

The free version shows ads between stages, and an optional ad you can choose to watch in exchange for hearts. Ads never appear during a case or next to a radiograph. Our advertising provider may use an advertising identifier to limit repeats and measure performance; you can reset or limit that identifier in your phone's settings. Dentingo Pro removes ads entirely.

8. How long we keep it

Your progress is kept while your account exists. Delete your account from Settings → Delete account and your records are removed within 30 days. Anonymous, aggregated statistics — such as how many people answered a case correctly — remain, because they are not linked to you.

9. Your rights

Depending on where you live you may also have the right to complain to a data protection authority.

10. Security

Data travels over encrypted connections and is protected by database rules that make each person's records private to them. No system is perfect; if we ever discover a breach affecting you, we will tell you.

11. Changes to this policy

If we change anything meaningful, the date at the top changes and the app shows a notice. Continuing to use Dentingo after that means you accept the new version.
